Herman (Chaim Aviezer Zelig) Wouk (May 27, 1915 – May 17, 2019) was an orhodox Jewish American author and novelist. He published many novels and won a distinguished prize. One of his non-ficition books This is My G-d, the Rebbe was happy that there was a thirst to spread this book among IDF sooldiers and told him not to forget about the Jews in America. He greatly supported Chabad institutions all over the world.'

His maternal grandfather, Rabbi Mendel Leib Levine, was a Chassid Chabad and that is what gave him his intial feelings for Chabad. Before leaving for war, at the request of his mother, he went to Rebbe Rayatz to receive a blessing from him. The Rebbe Rayatz, as he told other soldiers at the time, told him to make sure to put on Tefillin and handed him a dime. He first audeince with the Rebbe was in 5731 before flying out for a dinner in London to be a guest speaker there.

In 5745 the Rebbe encouraged him to publish sections of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch in braille, after he was intrumnetal in a project of the Chumash in braille. תבנית:References
